Growing up Christmas was a day for family
My mom, Brother, and I
We would wake up open presents and make a delicious breakfast
Then my mom would instantly start making Christmas dinner
Christmas dinner was roast, lasagna, and a salad
The house smelt amazing
Most of the time it would be the three of us
Some years my aunt her two girls would come over to share dinner with us
But Christmas 2012 ( my mom's last Christmas) we had the whole family over
Lots of food, lots of laughs and lots of love
My mom made her usual meal
My cousins and I gathered at the table to play many intense games of UNO
At one moment I remembered her looking at us all from the couch just smiling and happy
That's an image I would never forget
Not saying a word just looking at all of us
A moment I cherish in my heart
Christmas now is small with my brother and I
We have welcomed a new family member our friend, Ireanna
We have kept some of the same traditions the it come the meal
Christmas is now a game day for us
We pulled out all our board and card games and play for hours
This is something I want to continue when I am married with children
Christmas is becoming special again to me
I'm thankful for my mini tribe
